Privacy Policy

INVOS GLOBAL (PVT) LTD is the controller of the personal data processed through aiguru.lk. You can reach us at any time using the contact details at the end of this policy.

Information you give us

• Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Learning profile: grade, subjects, exam year, school, district, gender, preferred language, study goals, available study time, learning style and confidence levels you share during onboarding or in settings.
• Your study content: questions you ask the tutor, answers to quizzes and practice questions, notes, board questions and anything else you type or dictate into the Service.
• Payment details: your mobile number and billing city, passed to our payment partner to complete a purchase. Card details are entered directly with PayHere and are never seen or stored by us.
• Messages you send us, for example support requests.

Information collected automatically

• Learning activity: lessons opened, progress, quiz scores, flashcard reviews, streaks, credits used and time spent studying.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and logs needed to keep the Service secure and working.
• Preferences saved on your device (local storage), such as your theme, language and sign-in session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Voice dictation uses your browser’s built-in speech recognition, so that audio is handled by your browser provider (for example Google or Apple) under their privacy terms; only the resulting text reaches us.

• To create and manage your account and sign you in.
• To personalise lessons, explanations, quizzes, study plans and reminders to your grade, level and language.
• To process payments, manage plans and credits, and keep records of transactions.
• To provide support and send you important notices about your account or the Service.
• To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
• To understand how the Service is used and improve its quality and accuracy.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We process your data because it is needed to provide the Service you signed up for, for our legitimate interests in running and improving it, to comply with the law, or with your consent (or your parent’s or guardian’s consent where required).

To generate lessons, tutor replies and other content, the relevant parts of your request and learning profile (such as your grade, language, topic and question) are sent to artificial intelligence model providers. We send only what is needed to produce a response and do not send your password or payment details. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI models for anyone else.

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the Service:

• PayHere — payment processing.
• AI model providers (accessed through OpenRouter) — generating lessons, tutor answers and study content.
• ElevenLabs — producing the board teacher’s voice from lesson text.
• Cloud hosting and database providers (such as Cloudflare) — hosting the website, storing data and keeping it secure.

These providers may process data outside Sri Lanka. We only use providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of our business. We never sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

The Service is designed for school students, many of whom are under 18. Students under 18 should use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian. We collect only the information needed to provide personalised learning, and we do not show advertising. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time to review, correct or delete their child’s information.

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law (such as payment and tax records), which we keep only for as long as required.

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and trusted infrastructure to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it private. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

Subject to the law, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data (much of it can be edited in Settings);
• ask us to delete your data or close your account;
• withdraw consent or object to certain processing;
• lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make significant changes we will tell you on the Service or by email.
